These are wonderful grow lights for the following reasons: 1) They are super bright. My light meter reads them as 2000 PPFD (the recommended PPFD for seed starting/growing is 300-900). Since they are so very bright, they can be suspended higher above the plants reducing the need for constantly adjusting the light height as they grow. 2) Each light only uses 8 watts of power. This makes them very economical to use. 3) The lights are moderately sized, at 4-1/2" in diameter, and they are very light. 4) The 4 lights are designed to be daisy chained with the provided cords, and there is one controller. This means you only need 1 outlet to power the 4 lights. You can use 1 or up to 4 of the lights depending on how you string them together. You don't need to use all 4 lights. 5) The cords that go from one light to the next are quite long, which adds to their versatility and easily adapting them to your own growing situation. 6) With the controller you can set 2 timers and adjust the brightness. 7) You can control the lights manually with the controller or via bluetooth. 8) The lights came with adhesive disks for mounting. However, they have a hole right in the center of the plastic so you can put a string through the hole and suspend each light in a simple manner that is easily adjustable. I dropped a string through the hole and tied it to a nut. The I tied the string to the bottom of the shelf above the tray of seedlings. I really like these lights. Grow lights that produce this much light are usually extremely expensive, so these lights are an exceptionally good value.

I love these things! I wish there was a way you could plug in more without buying another timer system. I also have to play around with the cords so they don’t look so hideous. Will update if anything changes.

The build quality feels solid. The housing is plastic, yes, but it's a sturdy, quality plastic that doesn't feel cheap or flimsy at all. The design seems well considered. You can control everything with a little controller on the power cord, which is handy for quick brightness or on/off adjustments without pulling out your phone.

I was honestly dreading the "smart" part. Usually, these kinds of apps are clunky and a nightmare to connect. I was shocked. The app connected to the lights instantly over Bluetooth and it is incredibly smooth to use. Setting up a schedule was simple. Adding more than one plant type needs some work in the app. I just put mine on a sunrise to sunset timer and haven't had to touch it since. The app also has a "Plant Assistant" feature where you can add your plants and it reminds you to water them. That's a neat bonus I wasn't expecting, but I'm actually finding it pretty useful. These are just a great, well executed set of lights.
