This plant light seems to work well so far and was very quick to assemble and get going. The app was easy to set up an on/off daily schedule, and I really like the slow warm up and turn off every morning and evening. That's a great feature.
It's easy to put together and program. It has a dimming feature that makes it come on like a sunset (gradually) and it goes off that way too. The height can be adjusted too.
I have only just started trying to grow some plants for about a year now and have still been trying to figure out what some of my plants need as far as lighting and water. I was interested in the database feature that comes with this light’s app to maybe help with some of that. After receiving the light, I downloaded the app and got it all set up for control by my phone and everything, which was a pretty quick and easy process. I was trying to decide which of my sprouted seedlings to put under the light, but my decision was narrowed down because only one of them is in the Glowrium database. The fact that none of my bonsai trees are in the database is my one complaint about this product. I’m sure it could still work well with bonsai trees, but don’t expect it to give you any recommendations for them. The one plant I am currently trying to grow that is in their database is Anise Hyssop or Agastache foeniculum, so that is the one I decided to put under the light. I had 4 tiny sprouts that I was trying to grow in the window, but they weren’t really making much progress. I had been covering them with plastic, but the first time I left them uncovered in the window, two of them basically shriveled up and died. So I went back to trying to keep them covered, but the others were already at the height of the plastic. Once I got the Glowrium light, I moved them out of the window and put them under it and left them uncovered. Since they are in the database, it does give lighting recommendations and has a light-testing feature where you place your phone under the light above the plant to see if it is at the correct level. I also like the sun-timing feature that automatically has the light come on and go off at the time of sunrise and sunset for your area. You can set your own times though, if that would be too much light for your plant. Another feature I really like, probably my favorite thing, is the plant journal in the app. Basically, you set the light to be for that plant, and it has a spot where you can add notes and photos of your plant’s progress while automatically recording the date for each entry and keeping them neatly arranged. As you can see from the screenshot I uploaded from the journal, my Anise Hyssop is growing much better now under this light than it was in the window. One of the two that had shriveled up didn’t make it, but the other one has started to come back, while the other two plants have grown significantly. There are a few other noteworthy features that could be useful. You can set watering reminders. You can also set the lights up in groups to control the group all at once, if you have multiple lights you want to use together. In conclusion, I was disappointed at the lack of bonsai trees in the database, but the light and app have a lot of great features. The plants I put under it are growing well and doing much better than they were in the window. I would recommend it, just don’t count on your plants being in the database.
